Apple OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion

The answer to your first question about OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion—which Apple announced today and plans to ship sometime this summer—is, "Yes, you will want it." If, like most people, you use a computer for pleasure as well as for work, you will want it a lot. And if you carry an iPad or iPhone with you when you leave your computer at home, you will want Mountain Lion even more. Of course, that's all based on the early code I've been looking at, and Apple's clearly got a lot of fine-tuning to do—and possibly a few features to add. But there's no doubt that Mountain Lion already looks very fine. OS X 10.8 does more to integrate social networking and file-synching into a personal computer than any other OS I've seen. It even has the potential to upend the video game market, because for anyone with an HDTV and Apple's $99 Apple TV set-top box, Mountain Lion transforms the Mac into a powerful game console.  For the consumer market, Mountain Lion may be the most significant OS release since Windows 95...read full story

Flaw found in securing online transactions

Researchers on Wednesday revealed a flaw in the way data is scrambled to protect the privacy of online banking, shopping and other kinds of sensitive exchanges.  A program used to generate random number sequences for encrypting worked properly 99.8 percent of the time, meaning that two out of every thousand "keys" wouldn't thwart crooks or spies, the report warned....read full story

Report of Google already moving onto Android 5.0 ('Jellybean') draw...

According to one report published on DigiTimes, device manufacturers are apparently already disappointed with the adoption rate of Android 4.0 ("Ice Cream Sandwich") despite the fact that it was only released last October and has only been released to a limited number of devices so far. To rectify this, Google is supposedly planning to launch Android 5.0, codenamed "Jelly Bean," in the second quarter of 2012. DigiTimes' Monia Chen writes that the newest version of Android will "be further optimized for tablet PCs, while Google will also integrate its Chrome system functions to push dual-operating system designs" that will allow vendors to create Windows-based tablets capable of switching to Android depending on a user's wishes...read full story

What's up with GOOGLE?  As of last night they seem to be "big brother" looking over your shoulder at everything you do on the internet.  I've seen what happens when everything you do is made available to the public.  Herman Cain bailed out of the Republican nomination race because of everybody digging into his private life.  Now it seems like everybody (all of us) that use google will have our private life made very public.  That doesn't sound very comforting to me.  What do you think?
