Could someone please give me an explanation of what a filter's time response is. Is it simply the time it takes for a filter to implement it's filtering ?
I'm not sure what you mean by time response. When considering filters you have four basic types: low pass, high pass, bandpass and notch.
The low pass filter would pass everything from 0Hz up to it's limiting frequency which is called the cutoff frequency (fc). You can find the cutoff frequency by the formula 1/2piRC. And in the case of the low pass filter, this also gives you the bandwidth.
If this does not answer your question then please help me to understand what it is that you want to know.
