Presence of RF signal in the enviroment of specific frequency

Dear all,


Can we measure the strength of RF signal of specific frequency present in the enviroment?
Say a frequency of 2.4GHz, can we measure its availablity and strength of signal ?

Sure, you just use a piece of equipment known as a Spectrum Analyzer.  Use a piece of wire or something to serve as an antenna, connect it into the Spectrum Analyzer input and adjust the center frequency to 2.4GHz.  You will be able to see the signal level that you are capturing with your antenna.  Below is an example of a Spectrum Analyzer and what the display looks like.  This one is set to a center frequency of 1GHz.
